Jilla Movie Review




Illayathalapathy Vijay's last film Thalaivaa did not meet audience expectations even though it was loved by his fans. The collection of the film too was not good as the film was not released in the state for close to two weeks in the state. Now, he is returning with Jilla, which is much-bigger than his last movie. The cast boosts of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Kajal Aggarwal.
Expectations
Expectations will always be high when Vijay is in the movie. Adding to that the names of Mohanlal and Kajal Aggarwal automatically rise the expectations of the audience. The success of teaser/trailer has also generated a huge curiosity in the minds of the audience. So, let us see what the movie comprising of A-list stars has to offer the audience.

Influential businessman cum local don Sivan (Mohanlal) brought up Shakthi (Vijay) like his own son along with his younger son Vignesh (Mahat) and daughter Mahalakshmi (Niveda Thomas). Sivan is very close to Shakthi and they all lead a happy life. Shakthi hates khakhi colour as his father was killed by a policeman.

In the mean time, Shakthi falls in love with Shanti (Kajal Aggarwal), but refuses to pursue the love after he comes to know that she is a cop. In order to hold control over the local issues, Sivan manages to convince his adopted son, who hates police, to become a cop who gets posted in their city itself.
All goes fine till a gas explosion costs hundreds of life in the city. Shakthi, who was not serious about his work, gets upset with the incident. More importantly, the fact that his father is involved in this issue makes him angry. Situation changes him to go against his father.
